![]() While it seems like a straightforward solution, it looks like it generally is too good to be true but could work. I have submitted a help request on steam support but felt like I should ask this group just incase. click the underlined 'make compositor fullscreen' or 'launch compositor' below the error message. It prompts me to select enable full screen which yields no results. After enabling direct mode and disabling it I launch SteamVR and I get error code (-202) Compositor not in full screen. Theres a Direct Mode: True, in there somewhere. I have a single TV monitor that Is connected to my PC's graphics card so i'm not sure why there would be too many compositors running. If you have a problem again with SteamVR refusing to go in to Direct mode, you can force it in the SteamVRsettings.ini in your steam folder. Other times it will say too many compositors running. Ensure both stations are receiving power 2. Now all the sudden when I launch SteamVR I get this error code (-203). also make sure monitor and vive is connected to the same graphics card. I have tried various things (go all the way right/left and click in the window and it should wake it up - doesnt work) (Direct Enable doesnt work) (i've selected in the screen resolution. you would need to go into bios and disable onboard graphics chip and tell bios to boot from pcie first. I get all the way through until begining the room setup and just get a message of Compositor is not fullscreen. i connected the hdmi cable to external GPU, VIVE is working. ( Desktop to link box) so, 'compositor is not available' Error is presentating SteamVR. I have been running this just fine for weeks. I'm trying to set up HTC Vive on a laptop. I connected the hdmi cable to the main board. ![]() And from that graphics card I have a display port to mini display port connected to the vives link box. I have a HDMI cable plugged into my TV and connected to my main gtx 980 graphics card. ![]() In SteamVR status it states, "You'll need this for SteamVR to work correctly." Then prompts me to select "Launch Compositor" which tries and crashes in the HMD. My Monitor is connected via display port and the Vive is connected to the HDMI slot in the card. I click to make it Direct Mode, then it says the Compositor is not full screen and I get a red color in the HMD. The biggest is that it says my HMD isn't in Direct Mode. Inside my HMD it crashes and goes blank screen as well. Setting up my Vive today and ran into some issues. Whenever I launch SteamVR it comes on and says that my compositor is not running. ![]()
